Developer Profile

Tomohiro Takahashi

30+ years of multi-disciplinary development experience.

I work as an independent developer, taking apps end to end — from concept through implementation to release on the App Store. Swift and SwiftUI are my core, and I write the backend and subscription infrastructure myself when a product needs it — my strength is designing straight through the app, the server, the API and billing rather than stopping at the app boundary.

I started building for iOS in 2009, the year the iPhone 3G arrived. Since then I have shipped around 50 apps, mostly on contract — payments, e-commerce, social, games, in-facility guides for commercial complexes, and plenty in between.

My starting point was the game industry in 1991. I worked as a lead programmer on Super Famicom, Sega Saturn and arcade titles, and during the launch of a U.S. subsidiary I led a team of local engineers. After that came roughly eleven years of large-scale financial development, including a sales-network system for investment trusts, where I handled everything from requirements and design through to managing the team. I have also led projects localizing and culturalizing overseas games and apps for Japan, and worked as a project manager and bridge engineer coordinating teams in English and running offshore development.

These days most of my development runs on agentic coding with Claude Code. I am also building on-device AI and cloud LLMs into products, combining more than thirty years of engineering experience with new tooling, pushing every day to see how far one person can take a product.
